Caroline Bacon attended the Middle Peninsula Summer Regional Governor’s School (MPSRGS), themed "Touching Tomorrow Today," held from June 24-28, 2024. The program serves gifted students from nine school divisions and focuses on solving real-world problems through research, field studies, guest speakers, and labs. This one-week program equips students with the skills to identify and propose solutions to various issues, preparing them to face tomorrow’s challenges.

Caroline Bacon, a 7th grader from James H. Cary Intermediate School, embraced the exciting world of Homesteading. Throughout the week, Caroline explored sustainable living techniques, learning to nurture seeds into healthy plants and understanding the environment's role in plant protection. She designed her garden layout and created an herb garden to take home. Caroline also delved into practical skills such as cooking, composting, and sewing, showcasing her dedication to sustainable living.
